Botswana Diamonds PLC - Botswana and South Africa-focused diamond explorer - Says mining of the dumps at Marsfontein, with its Marsfontein and Thorny River projects in South Africa, is ongoing. Says exploration including drilling and geophysics in the mine area has identified a blow of between five and 10 metres wide and about 13 metres from the surface of fresh kimberlite. Says it can continue to mine at Marsfontein while it awaits outstanding permits to mine Thorny River.

Chair John Teeling says: "As a proof-of-concept project, Marsfontein is delivering diamond recoveries and values above expectations, as previously reported in August. This augers well for Thorny River. The discovery of an unmined blow is excellent news and will enable ongoing production until final permits to mine Thorny River are received."
