PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ Covetrus Inc. (CVET) on Thursday reported a loss of $4 million in its second quarter.

The Portland, Maine-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 26 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 26 cents per share.

The animal health technology and services company posted revenue of $1.22 billion in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.23 billion.
