DoorDash : Christopher Payne Elevated to President of DoorDash

We are thrilled to share that Christopher Payne, DoorDash's long-standing Chief Operating Officer, has a new title: President of DoorDash.

Christopher has overseen everything from strategy and operations, to our expansion internationally and into new verticals, to strengthening and improving DoorDash's relationship with merchants during his 5+ year tenure at DoorDash. This elevated and expanded role recognizes Christopher's excellence, his leadership, and reaffirms his role for the next chapter of DoorDash: expansion into new categories beyond restaurants.

From day one, DoorDash has focused on empowering local economies and creating opportunities for all merchants to reach consumers online. This focus has enabled us to develop a logistics platform that works for any type of local business. We started with food seven years ago because it's the hardest problem to solve. But our vision was always to expand beyond food. With Christopher leading the way, we made great strides this last year as we helped local merchants extend beyond their four walls, engage with customers, and sustain and grow their businesses in new ways. We are proud of the many partnerships we have continued building and expanding upon over the years, including local and national household names across industries: CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, and Wawa for convenience; Walmart, Meijer, Smart & Final, and Gristedes / D'agostino for grocery; Petco and PetSmart for pets; Macy's and Bed, Bath, and Beyond for retail; Sam's Club for pharmacy delivery; and many, many more. This multi-category momentum speaks to the extensibility of our platform, which we hope to continue by adding more new categories in the coming years.
