VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT

REGARDING THE COLLABORATION WITH TOYOTA MOTOR FOR JOINT DEVELOPMENT OF BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND ONBOARD BATTERIES

This announcement is made voluntarily by BYD Company Limited (the " Company").

The Company entered into an agreement with Toyota Motor Corporation ("Toyota") for the joint development of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) on 19 July 2019. The two parties will jointly develop sedans and low-floor SUVs as well as the onboard batteries for these vehicles and others with the aim to launch the products in the Chinese market under the Toyota brand before 2025.

The collaboration aims to combine the technology advantages and rich experiences in the research and development of electrified vehicles and batteries of BYD and Toyota. The two companies put aside their rivalry and collaborate to jointly develop BEVs, promote the widespread use of BEVs and industry development so as to provide customers with more attractive product offerings.

Investors are advised to exercise caution in dealing in the shares of the Company.
