You wouldn't expect this right away at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona: Joby Aviations electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL) is on display in Hall 3.

The five-seat aircraft is the world's largest electric air cab. It flies up to 200 mph (321 kilometers per hour) and is up to 100 times quieter than a helicopter.

Joby is showing a model of its aircraft in Europe for the first time, in cooperation with SK Telecom, South Korea's telecommunications company. That's where the connection to telecom is.

$100 million has been pumped into Joby Aviation. The American company delivered its first aircraft to Edwards Air Force Base about six months before the expected delivery date. There it will be used for logistics missions, including cargo and passenger transport.

The aircraft, the first built at Joby's Pilot Production Line in California's Marina, will be stationed at Edwards Air Force Base next year, with cargo and ground support equipment.

Wednesday is Jim Dukhovny's turn to unveil flying car. He is speaking at a presentation called Game Changers. The car is not expected to be commercially available until next year. On display at WMC is a smaller model of the car that stays in the air for an hour. 'Quite a few people claim to have developed a flying car, but they are more like electronic helicopters. Our model looks like a passenger car and parks like a passenger car.'
