(Alliance News) - Senior PLC on Wednesday said that its group finance director intends to retire after 18 years at the company.

The Hertfordshire, England-based auto and aircraft components and systems manufacturer said Bindi Foyle will retire from a "full-time executive career" and leave the company in 12 months, following an orderly transition.

Senior said the board will now "actively" start the succession process.

Having joined the company in 2006, Foyle was appointed to the board as group finance director in 2017.

"Bindi has been an outstanding member of Senior's leadership team for the past 18 years and an accomplished finance director for the past 7 years. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Bindi over the next year as we focus on delivery of our strategy and enhanced value for our shareholders. We will ensure an orderly succession plan is in place," said Chief Executive Officer David Squires.

Chair Ian King commented: "We respect Bindi's decision and value the transparency and her ongoing commitment. We will now focus on the succession plan to ensure we appoint a high calibre replacement for this key role."

Shares in Senior were up 0.7% to 170.40 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
