SME Leasing Limited reported unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported total revenue of PKR 8,203,727 compared to PKR 8,381,560 a year ago. Operating loss before provisions was PKR 4,774,918 compared to operating loss before provisions of PKR 6,002,296 a year ago. Loss before taxation was PKR 2,818,970 compared to loss before taxation of PKR 4,443,199 a year ago. Loss for the period was PKR 2,900,805 compared to loss for the period of PKR 4,583,374 a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share was PKR 0.09 compared to basic and diluted loss per share of PKR 0.14 a year ago.
For the six months, the company reported total revenue of PKR 21,317,158 compared to PKR 18,754,891 a year ago. Operating loss before provisions was PKR 4,055,962 compared to operating loss before provisions of PKR 9,547,628 a year ago. Loss before taxation was PKR 2,130,339 compared to loss before taxation of PKR 7,298,635 a year ago. Loss for the period was PKR 2,316,609 compared to loss for the period of PKR 3,407,542 a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share was PKR 0.07 compared to basic and diluted loss per share of PKR 0.11 a year ago.
SME Leasing Limited is a non-banking finance company. The Company supports the small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) financial needs through asset-based leasing. The leasing facilities provided by the Company include SME Automobile, SME Power, SME Cash Support, SME Machine Plus, and SME Medical Equip. SME Automobile product is designed for the needs of transporters, businessmen, service sector, and professionals. This product is limited to the leasing of busses, coaches, trolleys, trucks, oil tankers and includes rickshaws, LTV vehicles for business use. SME Power covers the leasing of power generators or other alternate sources of power generation. SME Cash Support is designed to cater to the needs of working capital requirements. SME Medical Equip is a product of leasing for doctors or hospitals, for medical equipment. It also provides advisory services for SMEs for operations of their businesses, syndication, and funds arrangement to fulfill their financial requirements.
