PJSC Tatneft : TATNEFT Has Launched Three New Production Facilities at TANECO

TANECO has started comprehensive testing of the gas fractionation unit, the diesel fuel catalytic isodewaxing unit, as well as the second delayed coking unit (UZK-2).

The ceremonial launching procedure has taken place at the central operator room of the crude oil refining complex with participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, Nail Maganov, General Director of TATNEFT, Ramil Mullin, Executive Committee Head of the Nizhnekamsk Municipal District, Ilshat Salakhov, Head of the Oil and Gas Processing Business Unit of PJSC TATNEFT, General Director of JSC TANECO, and Albert Nurmiyev, Head of the Department for Implementation of Construction Projects of PJSC TATNEFT.

The total volume of investments in new production facilities amounted to about RUB 29.5 billion.

The gas fractionation unit will expand the TANECO's product range through producing automotive propane, automotive propane-butane APB, normal butane fraction, and isobutane fraction. Only Russian equipment has been used at the unit construction stage.

The diesel fuel isodewaxing unit will produce arctic diesel fuel with high environmental performance and low temperature properties. The construction thereof contributes to the implementation of the state strategy for the development of the Arctic and the Far North Regions.

The delayed coking unit has been designed to obtain an additional volume of distillate fractions and petroleum coke from heavy oil refining residues. The commissioning of UZK-2 will increases the annual productivity of the TANECO Complex to 15.96 million tonnes in terms of processed raw materials, while maintaining the processing depth at the level of 99%. The installation has been erected within the shortest possible time period of 2 years, while usually the construction of such large facilities takes from 3 to 5 years.

When constructing the new units, TATNEFT has ensured the orders for the Russian machine-building enterprises. The share of domestic equipment in the installations for catalytic isodewaxing of diesel fuel and UZK-2 accounts for 95%.

The guests of honor have also participated in the opening of two household amenity buildings with each of them intended for accommodation of 949 TANECO employees. The new buildings are located outside the plant, which has made it possible to increase the safety of the personnel who move around the territory wearing overalls and use personal protective equipment only. The personnel are transported from the amenity buildings to the workplace by buses. The new buildings have been designed taking into account the measures aimed at countering the coronavirus infection spread. The construction of buildings outside the explosive and fire hazardous zones has made it possible to reduce capital costs.

At the end of their visit to TANECO, Rustam Minnikhanov and Nail Maganov have held a traditional meeting at the construction site headquarters summing up the results of the year, and they have also awarded employees of the Company and contractors.
