(Alliance News) - Valsoia Spa announced Tuesday that it has created a new market segment by launching Super Ovoveg, the first liquid vegetable egg in Italy, available in major Italian supermarkets.

Ovoveg, 100% vegetable with a unique and innovative formula, is designed for all individuals attentive to a balanced eating style and in particular for flexitarians, a target group of people mainly under 35, who often live alone at home and are looking for quick and healthy foods to cook. According to the latest Istat and Doxa data, the number of singles in Italy increased by as many as 400,000 between 2017 and 2022, reaching a total of about 9.1 million.

The new offering comes after months of research and development and market surveys conducted by the company to address the need for an alternative to egg that is both tasty, nutritious and environmentally friendly.

"After being the first company to offer vegetable products, Valsoia, which has been synonymous with innovation and attention to health for more than 30 years, once again demonstrates its ability to understand consumer needs and anticipate market trends," the company said.

Valsoia's stock is up 0.9 percent at EUR9.02 per share.
