VIA Labs, Inc. announced VL150 E-Marker. With VL150 Electronic Marker, USB Type-C cables will be able to report properties such as maximum signal rate and allowable current, in addition to manufacturer and USB-IF Certification information. VL150 is available in 3 x 3 mm DFN-10 package with 0.5 mm pin pitch for high-yield production.

Device also features flexible programming options, facilitating integration into manufacturing flow. VIA Lab's VL150 E-Marker for USB Type-C cables is designed for ease of manufacturing and will enable upcoming USB Type-C cables to report properties such as maximum signal rate and allowable current, in addition to manufacturer and USB-IF Certification information. The VIA Labs VL150 is sampling now, with a mass production date targeted for early second quarter of 2015.

The VL150 will be initially available with an easy to manufacturer DFN 10 3x3mm package with generous 0.5mm pin pitch for high-yield production and a high-level of integration to minimize total implementation cost. VL150 also features powerful yet flexible programming options, allowing it to be easily integrated into a manufacturing flow.
