The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Tuesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed.
The loonie was trading 0.4% higher at C$1.3737 to the greenback, or 72.8 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3738 to 1.3792.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 0.9 basis points to 3.476%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.2953%.
U.S. May crude futures fell $3.21 to $95.87 a barrel on Tuesday.
