The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Wednesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed.
The loonie was trading 0.1% higher at C$1.3893 to the greenback, or 71.98 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3884 to 1.3919.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 0.6 basis points to 3.48%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.3305%.
U.S. May crude futures fell 69 cents to $100.69 a barrel on Wednesday.
