Microsoft, back to basics. Apple is now close to the capitalizations of Alphabet and Amazon after its warning, while Microsoft dominates the ranking.

Elon overheating. Elon Musk got a little carried away yesterday by rewiring an external contribution on 'Forbes', announcing that Tesla had become the number one premium manufacturer in the United States, with 90,000 vehicles delivered over the last three months of the year. Problem(s): This figure covers the global market. And Mercedes delivered 90,575 cars to the American market alone over the three months concerned, despite a decline in its registrations.

Podium. In the American automotive market, Toyota took second place behind Ford in December, behind General Motors. Over the whole year, Ford slightly outperforms Toyota.

Very expensive particles. Volvo will set aside approximately SEK 7 billion ($778.7 million) to take into account the consequences of emissions exceeding the authorised limits on its heavy goods vehicles and buses, with an immediate impact on operating income, while cash expenses will be spread over several years.

A little short. Airbus failed to deliver 800 jets in 2018, despite assembly lines that ran until the last few minutes of the year, according to Bloomberg. In other news. Coca-Cola has completed the acquisition of Costa coffees from Whitbread. Silver Lake and its partners will inject $1 billion into Verily (Alphabet).
