NIESTETAL (dpa-AFX) - Emerging signals of a recovery in demand for photovoltaic systems have bolstered inverter manufacturer SMA Solar's confidence for 2026. 'Following a sluggish start to the year in installation rates for residential and commercial systems, demand has shown signs of stabilizing since March. We currently view this as the first indication of a trend reversal,' CEO Jürgen Reinert stated on Wednesday during the presentation of first-quarter results.
Reinert now expects both revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for 2026 to land in the upper third of the projected ranges of 1.475 to 1.675 billion euros and 50 to 180 million euros, respectively. These estimates also account for potential refunds related to U.S. tariffs previously ruled unlawful by the U.S. Supreme Court.
During the first three months of the year, consolidated revenue rose by 4 percent year-on-year to 340.9 million euros. Operating profit (EBITDA) increased by approximately six percent to 26.1 million euros./mis/jha/
