Investors are monitoring developments in the Iran conflict, where the latest reports suggest the US is deferring strikes on Iranian power plants for several days pending talks. Brent crude is currently trading around 102.50 dollars per barrel.
At 1:00 PM, the OMXS30 index was down 0.37 percent at 2,881.60. Shares worth approximately 6.8 billion kronor changed hands on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
Among the major industrial sectors, energy performed best with a 2.1 percent gain. At the other end of the scale, industrials bottomed out with a 0.7 percent decline.
Among the leading stocks in the OMXS30 index, Nibe B rose 4.7 percent while Telia gained 1.8 percent. Saab B saw the weakest performance, falling 1.8 percent, while Nordea dropped 1.7 percent.
In corporate news, measurement technology firm Hexagon has proposed a spin-off of its subsidiary Octave Intelligence, which is slated for listing in New York and Stockholm in late May. Ten Hexagon shares will entitle holders to one share in Octave. Hexagon shares are down 0.3 percent.
Morrow Bank is acquiring MedMera Bank from Kooperativa Förbundet for 1.96 billion kronor. The deal is expected to create a leading Nordic consumer finance platform with combined lending of 28.2 billion kronor. Earnings per share are projected to more than double by 2028 compared to 2025. Morrow shares are climbing 10 percent.
Pharmaceutical company Orexo is holding its R&D day on Tuesday, highlighting AmorphOX as the core of its strategy following the divestment of Zubsolv in the US. According to Orexo, the company has entered a new phase as a focused formulation firm. The stock rose initially but is now unchanged.
Software company Smartcraft began trading on Nasdaq Stockholm on Tuesday following its move from the Oslo Børs. Prior to the transfer, the company issued shares at a subscription price of 15.38 kronor. The stock dipped initially but is now trading at 15.502 kronor, 0.8 percent above the offer price.
Goldman Sachs has initiated coverage on several European paper companies, resulting in a "sell" rating for Stora Enso while SCA received a "neutral" rating. Stora Enso is down 0.6 percent, while SCA has lost 0.5 percent.
The decline in banking giant Nordea is attributed to Bank of America lowering its recommendation to "underperform" from "neutral."
Gaming entertainment company MTG is up 0.9 percent after SB1 Markets initiated coverage with a "buy" recommendation and a price target of 132 kronor.
