(Alliance News) - DBA Group Spa announced on Wednesday that Hutchinson Port Holding, through its Egyptian subsidiaries, has awarded SJS Engineering Srl - a subsidiary of DBA Group and SJS Srl - with the design, procurement and supervision of works for the construction of the Sokhna and Dekheila Container Terminals.

These contracts total USD12 million for activities to be started in the coming months and completed by 2026.

The assignment follows the one previously awarded and related to the New Abu Qir Container Terminal, now under construction, where SJS Engineering provided construction management and supervision services.

These are, the company explains in a note, Container Terminals each capable of ensuring a handling capacity of two million containers per year. The investment in Egypt, estimated to be worth around USD700 million, is the result of an agreement the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and Hutchison Ports Holding, the world's leading port investor, developer and operator with operations? in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Americas and Australia.

"SJS Engineering, which specializes in the maritime and logistics sector, has been working with HPH Group for many years, previously providing engineering services in the Port of Taranto and the Port of Dammam in Saudi Arabia," the statement said.

DBA Group is in the green by 1.1 percent to EUR1.77 per share.
