FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Hochtief shares benefited only briefly from quarterly figures on Monday. After jumping up to 104.70 euros, they last stood on the spot at 102.40 euros.

The shares had already run out of momentum before the weekend. After overcoming the 21-day moving average, which serves as a short-term indicator, the technical picture brightened somewhat. The shares are now struggling with the 50-day and 100-day lines, which are important indicators for the medium to long-term price trend.

The construction group earned slightly more in the opening quarter of 2024 than a year earlier. This was mainly due to the US subsidiary Turner and the business of the Spanish highway operator Abertis, in which Hochtief holds a stake of around 20 percent. The Essen-based company also confirmed its annual targets./gl/jha/
