Kroger officially submitted plans for a new store at the Cornerstone of Centerville development. The store is set to be on about 15 acres just east of the new Costco that opened in November at the multi-use development near the I-675 and Wilmington Pike interchange. Plans show the store facing south with 600 parking spaces and a new Kroger Fuel Center planned near the parking lot entrance off Feedwire Road.

The store will have a 116,000-square-foot footprint. The plan on the drawing board is about 20,000 square feet smaller than the Kroger Marketplace at 1095 S. Main St. in Centerville that opened in 2011.

Construction plans could be approved as early as Jan. 27 at a Centerville Planning Commission meeting. If no zoning or architectural changes are required, building permits could be filed for and secured within weeks after approval.
