Daniel Calparsoro and Jorge Guerricaechevarría will repeat their roles as director and screenwriter in this new fiction

Madrid, December 29th - Netflix has acquired the global rights for Hasta el cielo, the new film by Daniel Calparsoro (Salto al vacío, To Steal from a Thief), that will be turned into a series.

This new original series will be produced by Vaca Films (El desorden que dejas, Cell 211) for Netflix and will continue the story of this gang of thieves who have managed to put the Madrid police force in check. As in the film, Daniel Calparsoro will be in charge of the direction and Jorge Guerricaechevarría will be responsible for the script of this new fiction, that is currently in development and whose cast is not yet confirmed.

Daniel Calparsoro can boast of being one of the Spanish filmmakers who puts more passion in his films. Since his debut with Salto al vacío, he has not stopped working (Pasajes, Bird Box, Asfalto) until he specialized in action thrillers like Guerreros, The Absent or To Steal from a Thief, where he worked with Jorge Guerricaechevarría.

The scripts of Jorge Guerricaechevarría, who has collaborated with great names of national cinema such as Álex de la Iglesia, Daniel Monzón or Daniel Calparsoro, breathe adrenaline, spectacle and emotion, as he has proved in titles such as Balada triste de trompeta, The Day of the Beast, Quien a hierro mata or Cell 211, with which he won a Goya Award in 2009.

The film Hasta el cielo, currently released only in cinemas, will have a global premiere on Netflix after its film premiere.
