13 May 2024Ninety-two percent of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) stayed at the same speed this month on theNetflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which ISPs provide the best prime-time Netflix streaming experience.
Thirty-four countries and regions were in the top performance tier for April - Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States all registered an average speed of 3.0 Mbps.
In Kuwait, BOnline and Zajil Telecom each increased from 2.2 to 2.4 Mbps sinceMarch's results.Both Copaco in Paraguay and Reytel in Honduras climbed from 2.0 to 2.2 Mbps, and Wancom in Pakistan ascended from 2.4 to 2.6 Mbps. Meanwhile, Viettel in Vietnam experienced a decrease of 0.4 Mbps, dropping from 2.6 to 2.2 Mbps.
Four countries experienced an overall decrease of 0.2 Mbps this month: South Africa and Vietnam fell from 2.8 to 2.6 Mbps, while Argentina and Uruguay dropped from 3.0 to 2.8 Mbps.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime-time Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services or data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Higher Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times, and fewer interruptions.
