Wallenstam : 1,800 square meter gymnastics and trampoline hall for Mölnlycke Fabriker

In Mölnlycke Fabriker, Wallenstam is constructing a completely new sports hall for gymnastics and trampolining for Härryda Municipality. The 1,800 square meter hall is being constructed in two separate parts for two of Härryda Municipality's very active clubs, Pixbo Gymnastikförening and Sjövalla FK Trampolin. By summer 2021 the hall is expected to be ready to receive expectant performers and spectators.

Mölnlycke Fabriker as an area is taking shape in a genuine industrial environment just outside of Gothenburg.

'Now in December, we will welcome our first residential tenants to Mölnlycke Fabriker, which feels really great. To now also build a new sports hall for two of the municipality's active clubs as part of the overall project will create more meeting places, activities and will contribute to more life and vibrancy in the pleasant industrial environment,' says Marina Fritsche, Vice CEO of Wallenstam.

The 1,800 square meter hall will be specially adapted for the activities. For example, the trampolines are being lowered 2.5 meters into the ground for safety reasons while the ceiling is high, as the gymnasts sometimes jump, twist and gyrate 8-9 meters up in the air. Installations, fittings and placement of lights are also being adapted so as not to dazzle or to be in the way.

Externally, the hall will be covered by a sedum roof, contributing to both greenery and a nice view for the future residential tenants in the area. From the area's garage, which is being built right next to solar cell modules in the façade, there will be a walkway through the sports hall and into Mölnlycke Arena.

'In the development of the district we have worked to make the entire factory area more reachable, accessible and open for all who live, work in or visit Mölnlycke Fabriker. It is a unique historical area where we are contributing to a seamless web of history, sports, health and safety,' says Marina Fritsche.

In total, Mölnlycke Fabriker will consist of just over 600 new apartments, commercial activities, a new arena and sports hall. Wallenstam's construction of 424 apartments is currently in progress in the Rosengången, Väven and Kvarnen blocks. The first tenants in the area will be welcomed to the Rosengången block's 123 rental apartments in early December.
