STORY: Heathrow Airport said on Monday its passenger numbers fell 5% in April to 6.7 million

It blamed the drop on the Iran war, which hit travel plans.

The airport added passengers from the Middle East plunged by more than half.

Although, Heathrow said transfer numbers rose by a tenth as travellers rerouted through London.

But it warned last month full-year passenger numbers were likely to be hit.

That's despite absorbing some displaced demand following Middle East airspace closures.

Heathrow said it will review and update its passenger forecast for this year in June.

The airport's Chief Executive Thomas Woldbye called the impact from the conflict a "short-term disruption."

And he further said it hasn't hit underlying demand.
