Shares of industrial and transportation companies rose amid hopes for a breakthrough in Iran peace negotiations.

German chemicals firm BASF said it was raising prices sharply for more of its products, adding to a rash of price hikes among chemical makers as raw-materials costs soar due to the U.S. and Israel's war with Iran.

Defense contractors Lockheed Martin and Honeywell Aerospace signed new framework agreements with the Department of War to accelerate the production of critical U.S. defense technologies.
