Shares of WuXi AppTec surged in Hong Kong after the Chinese pharmaceutical company reported strong annual profit and revenue growth.

The company's shares jumped as much as 9.8% to 112.80 Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to US$14.40, in Tuesday morning trade. The shares are on track for their biggest one-day percentage gain since July 2025.

The gains came after WuXi AppTec said Monday after market close that 2025 net profit more than doubled to 19.19 billion yuan, equivalent to US$2.79 billion. Revenue rose 16% to 45.46 billion yuan.

Based on the full-year results, Nomura estimated that WuXi AppTec's fourth-quarter sales rose 9.2% from a year earlier due to its WuXi Chemistry business division, said analyst Jialin Zhang in a note.

For this year, WuXi AppTec expects total revenue of between 51.3 billion yuan and 53.0 billion yuan, with revenue from continuing operations expected to grow 18% to 22%.

"We view the [2025] results and [2026] guidance as in-line with our estimates and quite impressive on a high base," Zhang said. The investment bank maintained a buy rating on Wuxi AppTec with a target price of HK$157.07.
