Spanish lender CaixaBank announced on Thursday that its net profit rose by 7% in the first quarter compared to the same period in 2025, driven by revenue growth and strong performance in its insurance business.

The country's largest domestic lender by assets posted a net profit of 1.57 billion euros (1.83 billion dollars) between January and March, up from 1.47 billion euros in the same period of 2025.

Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast a net profit of 1.46 billion euros.
