Meta Platforms said it expects to spend more on artificial-intelligence data centers this year than it had previously forecast. Shares fell 6.5%, to $626.00, after the market closed.

Alphabet, Google's parent company, reported a 22% increase in first-quarter revenue and an 81% increase in profit. Shares rose 6.6%, to $370.08, after the bell.

Qualcomm said it will enter the data-center market and reported profit more than doubled in the fiscal second quarter. Shares surged 12%, to $175.21.

Amazon.com reported 28% growth in Amazon Web Services, fueled by growing AI adoption. Shares were up 2.6%, to $270.00, after dipping into the red following the market close.
