JASPER, Ind. (AP) _ German American Bancorp Inc. (GABC) on Monday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $24.4 million.

The bank, based in Jasper, Indiana, said it had earnings of 83 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 85 cents per share.

The financial services holding company posted revenue of $74.5 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $66 million, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $67.8 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $81.8 million, or $2.78 per share. Revenue was reported as $259.7 million.
