April 8 (Reuters) - An Oregon appeals court on Wednesday ruled in favor of PacifiCorp, issuing a decision that could reduce damages owed by the Berkshire Hathaway-owned utility over a series of Oregon wildfires in 2020.

The Oregon Court of Appeals in Salem said a trial judge overseeing the so-called James litigation erred in instructing jurors that they could assume that evidence at trial applied to all class members. It said this error was prejudicial to PacifiCorp.
